Isaac Parris had just finished kindergarten when he started complaining of headaches. In church one Sunday, he screamed out in pain. Though he appeared fine the next moment, his concerned mother brought him to see his pediatrician. Ten days, five doctor appointments and a CT scan later, April Schippers heard the word every parent dreads: cancer. With a growth in his brain and in need of pediatric specialists, Isaac was admitted to Advocate Children’s Hospital, home of the Midwest Children’s Brain Tumor Center (MCBTC). There he was found to have a glioblastoma, a malignant tumor. Watch his inspiring story to overcome cancer and learn how Advocate Children's Hospital's Child Life therapists, physicians and clinicians impacted his journey.
